Building & Renovations

Please contact starharborbandz@yahoo.com for any permit application & please state in the email the type of project.  Due to our new Ordinance 180, effective December 2024 all application forms have been revised.

Contact City Hall to obtain a building permit application BEFORE starting a project

Allow time in your schedule to work through the permitting process and to schedule inspections / remediations as required.

It is advised to inquire at City Hall when planning ANY  project on your property.  "no person, estate, firm or corporation shall erect,  construct or build a residence, dwelling or other structure, on any lot or within any zoning district of the City of Star Harbor without first applying for and obtaining a building permit"

The following building activities do not require a building permit.

· Replacing an existing roof.

· Repairing external siding. NOTE: Replacing exterior (stone, brick, siding, etc.) or adding external features to an existing dwelling requires a building permit.

· Repairing structural damage resulting from natural disasters including but not limited to hurricanes, tornadoes, lightning strikes, tree blow down, storms, etc.

· Renovating the dwelling interior (floors, walls, etc.) so long as the square footage of living space is not increased.

· Repair or replacement of driveways and/or sidewalks.

· Replacement of exterior windows and/or doors.

Steps for Homeowners / Contractors

  1. Review The City of Star Harbor Ordinance 180.
  2. Submit permit application, supporting documentation & fees to City Hall.
